Artbucks Framed Print
This unique picture was commissioned by Graham, the owner of ICE, with a specific job to do.
At the time Graham was the MD of a large publishing and gallery business, you may know of Castle Galleries, they then had over 30 art galleries across the UK.
He wanted to pitch to Starbucks with a business opportunity;to sell artwork through their café network.
His idea was simple, that a selection of the larger stores each displayed 3 to 4 nice pictures which were offered for sale and behind this small range sat a website offering a much larger selection.
In order to get to the top of the Starbucks tree this painting was commissioned, you will probably know all of the characters at the table but you won’t know that the server was the MD of Starbucks UK, Kris Engskov.
Graham drove to London with a print taken from the original and hand delivered it to the HQ telling the receptionist this was a painting for the MD, she may well have thought he’d ordered it 😊.
About an hour after it was delivered the PA for the boss, Sarah, called Graham and a meeting was agreed with the Marketing Director, what a result!!
