John Afflick

Liverpool-born artist John Afflick originally comes from a military background, having actively served his country during the Gulf War as part of the Corps of Royal Engineers.

He enrolled to study fine art at Liverpool John Moores University in 1993 where he developed his immaculately finished style, which uses traditional techniques and recipes, influenced by the likes of great master painters such as Caravaggio and other notable members of the Baroque and Renaissance movements.

Best known for producing fascinating and alluring figurative art often with a humorous and underlying narrative, John has also received wide critical acclaim, having exhibited at such established galleries as the Lowry in Manchester, and featured in various publications.

His paintings possess a strange alluring mystery that draws the viewer into the image and impels them to question it.
